Recently I've observed that my PC frequently powers off when idle. I haven't seen it shut down visibly, but often after a short break in the room and returning, it restarts automatically. Checking Event Viewer reveals consistent patterns: an unexpected shutdown with event ID 6008, followed by a critical error (ID 41) indicating a system reboot without a clean shutdown, attributed to the Kernel-Power source.
My current setup includes:
- CPU: Ryzen 3800X
- Motherboard: MSI X570 GAMING PLUS BIOS A.M0
- RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 32GB at 3600mHz with XMP
- GPU: RTX 3070 (LHR)
- SSD: WD Black SN750 NVMe
- AIO Cooler: Corsair 240mm (model uncertain)
- Power Supply: Seasonic 750W 80+ Gold rated unit
This issue remains consistent across various hardware setups and operating systems. No particular triggers have been identified, but I'm leaning toward potential problems with the CPU or motherboard, as they are the most enduring components in my system. Are there any sleep configurations active? Which BIOS version is installed on your motherboard?
I've observed that sleep patterns are quite irregular. Occasionally, my monitors remain active for extended periods when I leave, but sometimes they enter sleep properly. My BIOS version is E7C37AMS.AM0.
It really didn't resolve the issue completely the previous time. I noticed the PSU is included in their Focus line, but all other components are protected by the PSU cover. Because I'm at school, I don't have the necessary tools to take it apart right now. All drivers were installed manually a few weeks ago after formatting my SSD and reinstalling Windows.
I just reinitialized the CMOS. The standard BIOS configurations usually apply a core voltage of 1.4v, which I believe is excessive; I adjusted it to 1.35v manually. Could this affect the system?
The specific model is Seasonic Focus GX-850 SSR-850FX. It's the third power supply I've used in this machine, and the issue continues, making me question if it's a PSU problem.
