Check for a newer SATA controller driver. In Device Manager it should show "Standard SATA AHCI controller." You can get the update from the official AMD/Intel website.

I'll take a closer look. It seems you'd expect more issues with the hangs in gaming because so much data is being loaded from the HDD, but in this case, L4D2 hasn't caused any problems during the past hour. It feels like a random glitch.
