A few months back, my Gigabyte RTX 3080 10gb (bought in January 2021) got damaged in Chrome. It showed flickering squares and even crashed at launch. After restarting, it worked again, but I switched to Firefox instead. That fixed the issue. Some people thought Chrome’s acceleration engine might have failed, but it hasn’t happened since. I’ve played WZ2 without problems and finished Light 2 too. Yesterday, after a fresh PC boot, the same issues appeared—flickering on desktop and Firefox, crashing in Discord. After restarting, it worked fine for five hours of WZ2, with no overheating. My thermal pads switched to ThermalRight ODYDYSE, and temperatures stayed stable at around 74°C, even with a 750MHz overclock. In June 2021, I replaced the thermal pads with ThermalRight, but my memory temps never spiked—still around 105°C. I only play light games and browsing now. It’s strange that artifacts appear randomly when the GPU is idle, and I can’t reproduce them. Any advice?
