Avoid anything overly inexpensive; skip Asus cards as they often fail quickly.

What type of internet connection do you use? Which speed package are you subscribed to?

Identify the concern. Determine if the issue lies with your internal LAN or internet connection. Launch two command prompt windows. In one, run the command ping 8.8.8.8 -t. In another, ping your router's internal IP address, such as ping 192.168.1.254 -t. Observe the continuous ping to both internal and external addresses. If 8.8.8.8 becomes unreachable, the internet may be down; if the gateway can't reach your PC from the router, the problem is likely on your PC or connection. Begin here to narrow down the source.

I notice several aspects related to your setup in the UK. The problem seems connected to your ISP configuration, and I experienced the same issue. Once you reach the peak connection, it suddenly disconnects. To manage this, you might need to apply a bandwidth limit to utilize about 90% of your connection. This helped maintain a lower ping.
