Hello, I received my new PC yesterday. After setting it up and turning on XMP during the first boot, everything functioned perfectly. I installed Windows, but within just under five minutes I encountered a blue screen error. Initially, I assumed it was a random glitch that would resolve itself after a restart. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. I verified all aspects of the build, checked the system, and even ran the Windows memory diagnostic tool, which reported an issue with my RAM. Even when the PC was operational without a crash, I experienced frequent errors. Downloading drivers and games became problematic, especially the NVIDIA GPU driver. I attempted to reformat the drive just in case, but things deteriorated further. The PC failed to start altogether, displaying a warning before shutting down immediately. After restarting three times, it eventually led me to BIOS settings, where the RAM speed was automatically set to its lowest setting. I tried everything: updated the BIOS, double-checked my build, and ran tests. The issue remains inconsistent—like if I swapped the RAM sticks. When I enabled XMP at 3600 MHz, it started working again, but games running with low RAM would freeze or crash. Even basic programs like ASRock RGB control stopped functioning unexpectedly. I used AIDA64 for memory and cache tests, which crashed. After extensive testing, I reached a maximum stable speed of 3000 MHz, which was just above my 2700X’s capability. I managed to get it to run by accident before. My PC specifications are: Asrock Steel Legend 570X, AMD 2700X, 32GB GDDR5, G.SKULL 3600, GTX 1080, 360 cooler master, AIO 1TB NVMe, 4.0 Gen4, Sabrent 1TB, Rocket NVME, 80+ Gold, PSU from Addlink. Adjust SOC voltage to 1.1V. Increase memory voltage to 1.4V unless it should be 1.45V. If 3600MHz DOCP remains unresolved, attribute the issue to the second generation CPU.

attempted both versions; at 1.4V I saw an immediate blue screen after starting the AIDA64 stress test on 1.45. Aida64 reported a hardware error, and I captured the screen to share. The first attempt failed to save, while the second produced an instant blue screen.

It seems like the issue is related to the memory controller, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

I’m not entirely clear on what you’re asking. Do you mean whether the issue could be fixed by swapping out a damaged RAM module, or is there another reason why performance might be affected? Let me know so I can explain better.
