I've experienced this problem until recently. I was traveling on the motorway (freeway for Americans/Canadians) in GTA 5. The game would suddenly freeze for a few seconds, then restart. After that, it would continue doing the same thing. Eventually, I received a crash message saying "game has crashed." I'm using 15.5 beta drivers and my PC specs are listed in my profile.

Is the game installed on your SSD? Your 7970 3GB worked well with GTA V.

This might seem unusual, but do you have your own tracks included in the game?

Consider reducing graphics settings. Verify your GPU and/or CPU temperatures—throttling might be the issue.

From the game, I'm using the car radio. It's running on a 250GB mechanical drive. Note: I switched to a 7950 instead of a 7970.

GPU operates near full capacity while CPU runs at moderate levels. Temperatures remain stable around 65°C, and CPU stays at about 72°C.

He owns two 7970 models and they work well except during one intense session when he made a huge error. Otherwise, everything runs perfectly at 3440 x 1440.

I've been utilizing that GPU for a while now, and it's functioning properly.
