Greetings,

Occasionally while playing games such as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, or similar titles, the game pauses briefly and then resumes without issue, often triggered by explosions or minor visual effects. My computer’s performance is typically stable given my hardware specifications. I have previously enjoyed these games without experiencing this specific problem. I verified that CPU utilization was within expected ranges and scanned for viruses and malware but found nothing.

Specifications:
_
Graphics Card: GTX 1050 Ti (4GB)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 6-Core Processor (3.6 – 4.2 GHz, typically running at 3.6 GHz)
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional
Memory: 8 GB
System Type: 64-bit

That’s positive – dual channel is functioning correctly.

However, that appears somewhat unusual. I recommend beginning by obtaining the newest graphics card drivers and performing a fresh installation. It's conceivable that a Windows update is causing problems, so please attempt that first and then retest. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.

Additionally, updating all system drivers would be beneficial.

Please inform us of your progress.

The quality of the hardware specifications is questionable. You possess a component GPU suitable for 1080p at 60Hz, though it performs adequately at this resolution with some adjustment of graphical settings to maintain a consistent frame rate of 60FPS. Furthermore, you have 8GB of memory, which may affect gaming performance; however, this could be a contributing factor. Specifically, are you utilizing one 8GB module or two 4GB modules? Employing two DIMMs enables dual-channel operation, which offers improved performance compared to single-channel mode (using a single RAM stick) and provides an approximate boost of 10-20%.

Multiplying two by four. However, my games were functioning smoothly yesterday, achieving framerates between one hundred and three hundred frames per second in the majority of titles, and inexplicably, everything is now freezing today.
