SPECS - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x 3.8GHz GPU : AORUS Master RtX 3080 10GB RAM : G.Skill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL16 32GB (2 x 16) XMP Profile on MOBO : X570 Aorus Elite PSU : Corsair HX1000W PROBLEM - When my RTX 3080 is connected, I often lose the display on both monitors simultaneously. This forces me to power down the whole system by holding a button and then restarting. On rare occasions, I see a black screen with artifacts at the bottom, preventing any boot. These display issues mostly occur during gameplay, regardless of how intense the graphics are. I've also experienced total screen loss while browsing or watching videos with VLC, even when the computer is idle. Whenever this happens, I frequently notice error codes like "nvlddmkm Event ID 14" and "Application Error Faulting application name: dwm.exe". WHAT I DID - Verified for Windows updates. Executed the SFC /scannow command; no integrity issues detected. Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth; no corruption found. Reinstalled Windows completely. Updated BIOS and CPU chipset versions. Performed CHKDSK; no problems detected. Used CrystalDiskInfo to assess drives. My 250GB Windows drive is healthy at 94%, and the 1TB SSD is also good at 95%. Ran Memtest86+ – 11 passes, zero errors. Tested Aida64 for two hours. Updated graphics drivers and downgraded to the previous version. Completed Drivers stress tests (Speedway, Timespy, Port Royal) multiple times. Swapped monitors to see if the issue persists. Ran 3DMARK Benchmarks twice. Conducted GPU Stress Tests Speedway, Timespy, and Port Royal for 20 cycles each, consecutively. Played games while using MSI Afterburner and didn<|pad|> page. Sent the GPU in for an RMA, which was sent to Gigabyte for testing. After a month, it returned with a "No Fault Found Report" stating the GPU was tested in 3DMARK for two hours. Many tests I performed before and after sending the GPU in. During the month my 3080 was on, I used an older 1060 and never faced any issues, even at the same settings except for Skyrim. I ran FURMARK and lost display after about 16 minutes in the stress test. This time I didn’t see "nvlddmkm Event ID 14", but I did encounter "Application Error Faulting application name: dwm.exe" plus "NVIDIA OpenGL Driver A TDR has been detected". I was using GPU-Z alongside FURMARK and here are some logs from that test. This month, while using the 3080, I ran the old 1060 and never had a problem, even with identical games except for Skyrim. I simply ran FURMARK and lost display after roughly 16 minutes of stress testing. This time I didn’t get the error codes, but I still saw "NVIDIA OpenGL Driver A TDR has been detected".

Use Ctrl+Shift+B whenever it happens again.

He had already tried, now it just looks like a poor GPU.

That’s why I’m testing Windows Ctrl+Shift+B to reset drivers if it fails again, helping us determine if the issue is with a driver.

Current motherboard BIOS updates, latest GPU firmware (vBIOS), XMP/DOCP support status, and whether MultiPlane Overlay is disabled.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was performing a FURMARK Stress Test again and successfully completed it for an hour without any problems. I’ll attempt it next time. BIOS Version: F37 vBIOS Version: 94.2.71.80.6 Running XMP ReBAR is disabled; I’ll disable MultiPlane Overlay now. Thanks for the feedback!

Have you explored turning off Hardware Acceleration or GPU Scheduling in Windows? Some users report that Nvidia GPUs may clash with AMD CPUs due to BIOS issues, and adjusting these settings can resolve the problem. Have you activated Nvidia's "High Performance" mode via the Control Panel? Also, have you adjusted the TDR settings in Windows, which Nvidia recommends for troubleshooting errors?

This didn't function properly, but the drivers reinitialized when I powered the computer back on. It continued to occur even without MultiPlane Overlay active. I'm proceeding with ReBAR enabled. EDIT: ReBAR is now on and crashes persist. Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling remains disabled. I'll attempt NVIDIA High Performance mode. EDIT: Still encountering issues with NVIDIA High Performance mode; only a single TDR error appeared during FURMARK execution. Likely to resolve.

Hey, have you heard any news about the issue? I’ve been facing the same issues—sudden black screens, graphics freezing. It started from basic browsing to playing games like FH5 or Cyberpunk in ultra. I’m struggling to find a common cause for the crashes. Sometimes it happens after about 20 minutes, then the system restarts and works for hours; other times it crashes multiple times in a short time, like 30 minutes. Something odd is that my BIOS seems missing. The game engine and other tools show an error code F0, but when I try to update the BIOS it keeps saying it doesn’t match. Also, the Gigabytes listing starts at F1, which is disappointing given the price I paid for this system.

Specs: Ryzen 7 5800X, Aorus Master RTX3080, 10GB MSI MPG Carbon, WiFi 550, Crucial Ballistix 3600, 2x8GB MSI PSU, 750W ADATA M.2 1TB.
