Random BSOD
Random BSOD
Hello everyone,
I received a computer from a friend that seemed to work fine. I didn’t get an SSD with it, but I purchased a Seagate NVME SSD 500GB and added another 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. The processor is a Ryzen 3 2200G, and the motherboard is an Asrock A320M.
At first, I installed Windows 11, though the processor doesn’t support it. The main issue was that the computer would often refuse to shut down when I pressed the shutdown button in Windows or would crash. I assumed this was because Windows 11 didn’t work with my processor. I then formatted the SSD and reinstalled Windows 10. Still, the computer wouldn’t turn off, so I had to manually press the case button to shut it down. After that, I disabled the fastboot option, which resolved the problem temporarily. However, I still experience random BSODs.
I ran MemTest86 on the RAM and it passed. The processor was tested with Prime95 for about 20 minutes without issues. The SSD was checked using the manufacturer’s software, and everything worked fine. The processor temperature is around 50°C. I also tried using Sfc/scannow to repair the system.
The error message I’m seeing is:
Bugcheck code: 0x139(0x4, 0xFFFFC401C1F99010, 0xFFFFC401C1F98F68, 0x0)
Bug check name: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
Description: The kernel detected corruption in a critical data structure.
Analysis: This bug might be linked to malware or a security product that doesn’t follow programming standards. It could also stem from memory corruption. Possible causes include faulty drivers, bad RAM, overheating, etc. You can read more about memory corruption [here] and thermal issues [here].
Do you have any suggestions?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
