Random BSOD
Random BSOD
My PC has been experiencing random blue screens since I rebuilt it in early 2020. I ran MemTest86 four times with no issues. Windows was reinstalled several times, and I’ve ensured the latest drivers are installed. The BIOS is up to date. It appears to crash while playing videos on Chrome most of the time, but also during other tasks and less frequently while gaming. Chrome tends to crash often as well. Assistance in identifying the cause would be greatly appreciated. Below are some of the error codes I’ve observed.
BAD_POOL_CALLER
STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN
STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION – Chrome’s favorite
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_INVALID_LOCK_RELEASE
For reference, here’s a link to some mini dumps: https://www.mediafire.com/file/342trxgm8...s.zip/file
Hardware details:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
Memory: Corsair LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16)
GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1660 Super (ZT-T16620F-10L)
Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB (MZ-76E500B/AM) Primary
HDD: WD Blue 1TB Secondary
Have you launched Command Prompt with admin privileges, executed sfc /scannow, and pressed enter? What about your drivers? Are they current? The GPU, any network cards? I’d suggest testing by leaving one RAM module at a time to see if the issue persists. If it occurs on a particular stick, remove that one and replace it.
Completed a scan with sfc, detected corrupt files and fixed them. The GPU driver is now Game Ready Driver 528.24. All other drivers are the latest versions available on the MSI website.
I examined each bugcheck memory dump. Overall, I recommend removing the NVIDIA Shadow Play software first, then review the list below for additional clues to apply fixes.
It was indeed, but what johnbl suggested appears to be effective.
I didn't purchase a new computer, so I couldn't afford it. Instead, I upgraded the motherboard to an ASRock B550M PRO4.
