they tried that .all stock without any XMP settings, it didn’t crash but there were no kickups 8 months ago. so far it’s working well now, though we’ll see more. i forgot how much progress the i5s have made and i think there’s a lot cooler underclocking possible?? i built this pc back when the 9900k was released—only parts changed from then to now, like swapping nssds for bigger storage and upgrading from 3070 to 3080 with case changes and aio cooling. i know it should have been open loop, but i didn’t feel confident doing it myself yet because i never had that experience. i just wanted a second build in case i messed up, even though i bought all the parts. lol

Many older processors face problems with Windows 11, especially concerning BIOS updates. I experienced this with my Ryzen 2600, which wouldn't boot properly after an update to the latest BIOS version. The fix worked once I applied the patches.
