Microsoft has issued KB5044384 addressing the problem where Windows displayed an undeletable file during diskcleanup. It seems Windows incorrectly reported the file, possibly because it didn't exist or was unrelated to the issue. The link provided offers more details. After running disk cleanup, the file no longer appears as an option. The KB also resolved SFC /scannow, ensuring it doesn't falsely mark files as fixed unless they are. A restart might be necessary for any fixes.

It's worth noting this. I've only used sfc recently for a specific task, and I'm going to verify the KB just to be certain.

When using Western Digital NVMe drives, download the Western Digital Dashboard tool to update the firmware. 24H2 may encounter problems with WD NVMe drives that are not running the latest firmware.
