Ram's speed dropped from 3200 to 2400 after reinstalling Windows.
I just reinstalled Windows 10 and followed the instructions. Despite turning XMP on, my RAM stays at 2400 even though it was previously running at 3200. It’s a Ryzen 1800X model, and I’m still seeing that issue. After resetting the CMOS and re-enabling XMP, it hasn’t improved. Any suggestions?
Amd indicates this processor only handles speeds up to 2667 MHz. You might have done an overclock before.
I'm not sure how it happened. I tried the AMD overclocking tool, but my memory is set to 3600, so I expect around 2600 rather than 2400. Also, the 2600 is for ECC memory on that site, and I've read many guides saying 3200 is achievable, which is what I had before.
If I were you, I’d go for 3000 and avoid going higher since it might harm your RAM.
