Rampage board at a significantly reduced price?
The amount exceeds what I would normally spend, but if you require a setup, I think it's acceptable.
It's an older, less efficient board which is why it's affordable—just need a compatible CPU. You'd be better off with a modern Intel or AMD board from 2011 or 2012. A current processor would work just as well and avoid the hassle of finding a 10-year-old chip. In my view, this wouldn't be a wise investment, particularly in the Ryzen era.
The cost isn’t reasonable given what the board can do. Brand-name X79 models, particularly the Asus versions, keep being sold at absurd prices on eBay due to a dedicated hobbyist market, yet you’re likely not receiving any real benefit.
I’m after the same board you mentioned. It looks much cheaper than the other options. The local seller has one with RAM and a CPU, but says he doesn’t have a cooler or a powerful PSU to test performance. I’ve already spent the same price on my previous boards a few years ago, so I’ll be back when I get another case.
