Hey there, I'm just getting started on this forum and hoping to find a solution for my issue. I've seen my RAM usage spike a lot when the system is idle—usually around 46% with only about 7 gigabytes active. I thought Chrome was probably using most of it, but it shouldn't be that high or that much space would be consumed. I also don’t have much startup activity and have turned off some programs, yet the problem persists. My laptop is an Acer Helios 300 (2020), with a Core i7-9750h, Nvidia GTX1660ti GPU, 16GB RAM at 2666 MHz, and a 1TB HDD. If anyone has any tips or advice, I’d really appreciate it!

You're seeing high power consumption from Chrome despite other apps running. Check which tabs are using the most resources.

It's odd to see the display say I have 16 open tabs when I usually only have 2 or 3, especially without Chrome running. Discord and Steam aren't even visible either.

Discord and Steam appear in the system tray, possibly with fewer than 16 entries. There might be around 16 active processes instead. Press the arrow on the left to view details about each process and its purpose.

It seems like you're trying to understand what needs to be turned off. Let me clarify.
