RAM Trouble
You recently purchased a new PC with a 16 GB RAM module rated at 3000 MHz, but you're unable to adjust the BIOS setting from 2667 MHz to 3000 MHz. You're using an MSI motherboard.
I agree. When I switch to auto mode, there isn't an option to set 3000hz, but as shown in the second picture, my RAM is indeed 3000hz.
Wow, I was taken aback. I got this PC ready-made from Best Buy. Such a mistake!
Lately things have been hectic, yet typical for most pre-build setups is cheaper lower-end boards. Since you're running an Intel CPU, the gains from faster RAM will be minimal, making AMD Ryzen the better choice. With a non-K CPU, overclocking isn't possible no matter the board. You also have the chance to add a Wi-Fi adapter—don’t skimp on quality. For personal use, I favor an Ethernet cable. If you’re not concerned about the slight speed boost, the most affordable board that supports better RAM speeds is the one listed at PCPartPicker. For Wi-Fi, the budget pick is the ITX model and the ATX option with built-in Wi-Fi.
