RAM seems to be missing on one device while others have it.
Hello, I set up an account for this problem. I assembled a completely new machine and used Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x 16GB RAM modules. I followed the motherboard guidelines (slots 2 and 4) and powered it on. All indicators lit up when I pressed the power button. The CPU's Red Easy Diagnostic LED on the motherboard activated and then turned off, stopping any progress. After some troubleshooting and removing a suspected DIMM, the system booted again but only loaded a single stick. Placing the second DIMM back in didn’t fix it. Further checks showed one module was likely dead. I cleared CMOS, tried different slots, updated BIOS, and even had the RAM tested on another machine. The specs were: MSI MPG X570 motherboard, AMD 3900 CPU, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x 16GB RAM, 850W PSU, NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPU. Someone, could you explain why my computer seems to reject one of the RAM sticks? I’m still confused and looking for a solution.
he recently encountered an issue with his asus tuf x570. it only boots when one stick is connected, suggesting his memory isn't in the QVL list. probably a typo on the slots—maybe he placed them incorrectly. check the support page for your board and verify compatibility. good luck!
