I'll adjust SOC and DRAM voltage, turn on XMP, and leave the rest untouched to test. For my own understanding, should I pick the 3200 XMP profile without changing the DRAM frequency manually? I expect AUTO to handle it. Right now nothing seems to work differently—other than adjusting XMP, voltages, timings, etc., which I can do. Booting works fine, but I still only see 2400 in Windows. When I try to change DRAM frequency to 3200 manually, the memory overclock fails and I get prompted back to BIOS.
It won't function properly since XMP already configures those voltages by default. Typically it targets 1.05v and 1.35v. XMP applies a general memory overclocking group, then adjusts frequency and timings using data from the SPD flash ROM on the memory modules. The XMP profile probably sets a timing value that works only for Intel systems. Some timings depend on the platform. XMP is an Intel feature, not an AMD one.
Attached, I adjusted the voltages, configured XMP at 3200mhz, left the rest untouched. Everything ran smoothly during boot without errors. However, no changes were visible when using cpuz for verification. (I'm saving and exiting; double-checked myself trying to resolve this)
The XMP profile may not function correctly with your specific board, likely because it relies on calculations or tables that generate clock cycle timings from wall-clock measurements, which can cause errors. Usually, such issues aren't communicated to users; instead, the board defaults to the fastest JDEC standards found in the SPD flash.
I'm going to keep it simple—leaving XMP off and adjusting timings manually works, but the system still can't change from 2400. It only responds if I manually set DRAM frequency to 3200 and then adjust FCLK to 1600. Otherwise, it keeps booting fine but doesn't actually alter my speed.
If it remains at 2400 with XMP enabled, the XMP feature isn't functioning correctly for your modules. Additionally, if the board's speed setting is incorrect, the timing values are probably off as well. You'll have to manually adjust each timing setting. The Ryzen DRAM calculation should help you reach about 95% of the target, but you need to correct its overly optimistic TRFC timings by referencing the data provided by Ryaen Master when the system is operating properly at 2400.
I’ll review and adjust the attached file. I’ve attempted this multiple times, but I’m relying on your guidance now. When I manually set things yesterday, I tried my best. But is it safe to start with the highlighted red and black options first? (You have timing comparisons available so you can compare them to the suggested ones in DRAM Calc.) With the timing differences shown—like tRFC being only 2 off from my defaults—I’m wondering if skipping the blue settings on first tries will help. Will anything work without tweaking these values? Also, should I keep DRAM frequency auto and FLCK auto when setting everything manually, or adjust them to 3200 and 1600 instead?
No excitement, all configurations saved in the BIOS as displayed in dram calc. I've experimented with different dram and SOC voltages but haven't managed to post. I also tweaked some settings here and there to check for improvements. "RAM overclock failed" consistently. Every time I set the DRAM frequency to auto and FLCK to 1600, I still get stuck at 2400...
