What storage size do you need? For 64GB or more, stick to 3200Mhz; if higher, go with 3600Mhz. The difference in speed won’t be noticeable.

I agree with your perspective, but 3600MHz is just as viable as 3200MHz. You shouldn't face any trouble running at 3600MHz on Zen 3 under any circumstances. There is indeed a notable performance gap for devices like the 5900X, as RAM clock speeds influence the FCLK you can achieve. Reducing your FCLK by 200MHz will clearly affect performance in productivity tasks. I personally experienced a boost after increasing my 3600MHz to 3800MHz, which raised the FCLK to 1900MHz. The real bottleneck here is the rank configuration—aim for a balance between four and six ranks, not just four. High-capacity systems can usually handle more ranks, but pushing beyond eight ranks at the IMC will likely cause issues.

For them, if something isn't functioning as expected, it becomes a bigger concern than for someone else, particularly when using a workstation for financial purposes. That's why I prefer to be careful. CL16 is the typical suggestion, but CL18 usually delivers better performance. I would choose CL16 myself, especially if I were relying on the machine for income.

Regardless, the OP had enough foresight to ask here in the first place; if he runs into issues, I'm sure he can just as easily make his way back. Telling someone to take worse performance on the extreme off chance that they may potentially run into some issue, is just patronistic.
