Hey everyone. The setup is a ddr4 32GB with 3600mhz CL16 Trident Z Neo. I can’t get the PC to boot faster than 2133mhz. I’ve tested one stick, switched slots, even used two sticks at first but it would loop or reset itself. Tried reseating CPU and cooler, adjusted BIOS manually, but nothing works. Maybe the RAM or motherboard is bad. The GPU is 7900xtx, CPU i7 12700k, RAM 32GB, motherboard Asus tuf gaming z690 pro, PSU EVGA 850 G3. Need some help!

Are the BIOS settings current? RAM issues might stem from a defective board or CPU IMC problems.

I made changes to the Asus Armory Crate, likely handling BIOS updates too, and it seems to work fine now. It boots and runs smoothly with two sticks at 2133MHz. Anything above that causes it to restart repeatedly.

That’s not sufficient, unfortunately. You must obtain it directly from the website. Never rely on such software to update BIOS or most drivers—it’s outdated. It’s best to visit your motherboards page and handle it yourself. If that doesn’t work, consider purchasing RAM from the QVL page or returning the board for a replacement.

I attempted another configuration and successfully enabled XMP without problems. The system runs smoothly at 2400MHz. I have extra RAM available; I purchased it yesterday.

Update the Bios first, then try.

Attempted a different RAM configuration not covered before. It doesn’t boot with xmp at 3200MHz. I plan to update the BIOS first and then proceed. Will keep it updated.

I adjusted bios directly then used xmp. So far, no solution found by manually setting RAM speeds to 2800mhz.

Hmm... Well, maybe there are some dust in the RAM slot. Try to blow your RAM slots using compressed air.
