The amount you can overclock RAM varies depending on the specific model and its specifications. It's important to consider your budget and performance goals before making a decision. You might want to explore options like 3200mhz or even slower speeds if you're willing to invest in higher-end components. Brand choice also plays a role, as some brands offer better overclocking support than others. Generally, sticking with reputable brands like Corsair or G.Skill can provide more reliable results. If you aim for a certain speed, such as 3000mhz, you should look for compatible RAM that matches your target frequency.

I understand, if you desire 3200 MHZ RAM, purchasing a suitable 3200 MHz kit might allow you to reach around 3400 MHz or even higher, though it won't be straightforward.

Manual RAM OCing takes a long time and requires patience.
Also, verify your motherboard's manufacturer QVL and the RAM manufacturers' compatibility list before buying any RAM to confirm it will function at its rated speed.

Note:
C14 kits generally use Samsung B-Die ICs, which perform better in OC compared to other types.

I would choose G.skill Ripjaws V series 2x8GB 3200Mhz CL14 for $107.99. It matches the Patriot Viper's price, offers a higher CL number, and costs $10 more than Corsair but performs significantly better overall. The only drawback is the lack of RGB.

These look quite good, thank you. If I choose to skip RGB, I might consider these options.

The Ryzen 5 3600 and the mb are still unclear. It seems like a mid-range x470 or x570 might be more likely, based on the price of the 3600.

It's better to wait and confirm the exact MB you're getting. Then verify that any RAM package you select can operate at its rated frequency for that MB.

I haven't noticed any X470 models that don't meet the 3200mhz requirement, not even the B450. I'll get in touch once the X570 launches, thank you for your support.
