I improved my laptop's RAM from 4GB (2GBx2) to 8GB (4GBx2). Both versions use a PC3-12800 with a 1600MHz rating. The unusual aspect is that the older memory operates at 800MHz (x2 due to DDR), which matches the timing table, while the newer RAM runs at just 666MHz CL9, not listed there. Although 1333MHz CL9 is technically faster than 1600MHz CL11, this is normal. You can still run at 685MHz CL9, but it might affect performance. There’s no BIOS option to change the speed, as it’s an older machine.
