A friend upgraded his RAM by getting Corsair DDR4 Dominator Platinum instead of his G.Skill DDR4 Aegis. We discovered that AMD Ryzen only supports up to 2133Mhz for RAM, so now he’s stuck with a fixed speed. He might try combining different brands and capacities to get more performance without too many downsides. The modules have the same capacity, but the link we got was incorrect. He attempted to activate XMP and the MSI Memory Try It feature, but the CMD continued to show 2133Mhz.

Observed BIOS version is 2017; recommend checking for updates to the latest BIOS for the board. Updating may resolve any existing issues.
