I checked several guides on overclocking RAM, but my system caps at 2133 MHz. I have an Intel i7-6700K with a MSI-B150 motherboard. My current RAM is Corsair LPX vengeance. I want the clock speed to be about 2800 MHz or higher. I understand that overclocking can affect longevity, but a 700 MHz increase seems significant. Would you think it would cause noticeable wear?
It all comes down to the voltage and the specific chip design. If you're thinking about boosting your RAM beyond 1.4V for regular use, it could cause noticeable wear unless it's a Samsung B-die model. For extra caution, check how low you can safely go without damaging performance.
I don't know if this would be useful, but here are the pictures of the Ram.
