I've just assembled a new computer. The RAM is labeled at 3600MHz but it's only hitting 1300MHz. I turned on XMP settings, but I'm not sure what's causing the problem. The components involved are: RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600MHz, Motherboard: ASRock X570 Pro4, CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Enable XMP, save the settings, then close the BIOS. Avoid touching the keyboard; it should rest for memory training. Have you attempted this before?

Yes, your RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4.

You can attempt it once more. Should I configure it at 3600 or keep it in auto mode?

That's correct, I adhered to the motherboard manufacturers' recommendations.

The memory includes an XMP profile by default, which may simplify the process. Simply enable XMP, save your settings, and close BIOS without making any changes until you start Windows. It might require some initial setup to reach optimal performance. Note that some users report slower speeds with Corsair memory on AMD platforms.

I’ve carried it out and increased the frequency to just under 1800, though it remains a quick cry from 3600.

In short: If tools like CPU-Z or Task Manager display 1800Mhz, the actual speed is 3600Mhz. In detail: your RAM operates at 1800Mhz, meaning it processes two data transfers per cycle (DDR technology). This equates to 3600MT/s—million transfers each second. Manufacturers often label this as 'Mhz' for simplicity, so you see a 3600Mhz configuration. CPU-Z accurately reflects the value, matching the manufacturer's claims.
