RAM not functioning, need assistance.
Hello. I recently purchased new RAM (Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz 2x8GB) and tried installing it alongside my existing Corsair Vengeance LED 2666MHz 2x8GB setup, but the computer wouldn't boot. After removing the new RAM, I used the old one normally and then tried the new one, but both failed to start. My motherboard (ASUS Prime Z370) shows a light next to "dram," and I attempted using the "memoize" function on both RAM modules, yet nothing worked. The old RAM's LED is lit but doesn't respond.
You place the RAM in a specific pattern—either adjacent or skipping slots—to ensure proper installation. Mixing different RAM speeds isn't recommended since it can affect performance. Stick to the new 3200MHz model and enable XMP settings so the RAM can be overclocked. Otherwise, it will only run at 2133MHz, which caused a noticeable drop in frame rates for some games.
It's referred to as DOCP! The update indicates Intel supports XMP, while AMD offers DOCP.
Consider placing the RAM in the A2 and B2 slots. The second and final slot is B2.
