Hello, today I installed a new pair of RAM modules. They are a different type than the previous ones, which made me a bit nervous. After setting up the PC, I noticed it displayed 32 GB of RAM, but only 16 GB was actually available. I moved the RAM to another slot and double-checked if it was inserted correctly. Now it shows 32 GB, but the reported size is 830 MB—does that match the standard? Yes, I tried adjusting the maximum memory settings in the BIOS, but it still doesn’t seem right. Thanks for your help; I’ve been searching online but haven’t found a clear answer.

It varies; depends on whether it's a laptop with built-in graphics. Usually, some RAM is set aside for the integrated GPU, and the exact amount might be adjustable through the BIOS settings.

Normal is 830 megabytes reserved. 16 gigabytes reserved isn't. It seems you have the right slots in the 830 reserved.

I changed the RAM arrangement and it began functioning properly. After a while, without any changes, I noticed the system still shows 16 GB RAM in BIOS, but it appears to be connected as 32 GB. I’m not sure what’s happening right now.
