Ram issues
Hello everyone from the realm of spiders, snakes, and other grim creatures. I’ve updated the setup to AMD after a 14-year shift from Intel. There are some current problems with the RAM not operating at full capacity. The system specs match the Asus X-570-f with a Ryzen 7 3700X, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB, and a 3600MHz CL18. In BIOS, RAM speeds are capped at 3600, but Windows and CPUZ show 1800MHz. I’ve tried the AMD version on XMP without any changes. Cheers and good luck to all!
CPU-Z frequently displays only half the actual speed shown in BIOS. This happens because DDR4 is a double data rate technology, meaning its speed is twice a certain value—1800MHz here. When you adjust the memory settings to default 2400MHz, it appears as if your RAM is running at 1200MHz. It's just an odd quirk that becomes familiar over time.
