Using a X670-P board with your Ryzen 7700X and dual DDR5 sticks presents some challenges. You're experiencing BIOS beeps when swapping RAM or moving slots, suggesting a potential compatibility issue. The manual recommends slot A2 for single RAM installation, but it doesn't explicitly state it's mandatory. Testing with default settings didn’t resolve the problem, even after manually setting RAM to specific speeds. If your first setup worked in A2 and B2 as a 32GB pair, switching to another slot likely caused instability. Consider checking the motherboard documentation for slot requirements or testing in a different configuration. Let me know if you'd like further guidance!

B2 should also function properly. A1 and B1 may technically work, though their reliability is questionable on most AM5 DDR5 boards when used alone. I've noticed comparable issues on other platforms, often due to a faulty CPU mount. Try re-seating it to check if it improves things. Otherwise, it seems the motherboard might be problematic.

Thanks for your guidance. I checked the CPU closely and looked at the socket more closely—there was a very slight difference in one corner. I examined it under a microscope, and it seems the two pins aren’t properly formed with the plastic. After re-seating the CPU twice, it’s now working with both RAM modules. I’ll proceed with an RMA for the board. Appreciate your help again!
