I received a Corsair 64GB (32x2) RAM today to replace my existing 32GB (16x2). I cleared out the old slots, installed the new ones, and powered down the machine before disconnecting it. Before buying, I verified compatibility with my CPU and memory type. Now, when I restart, the system still displays only 32GB instead of the expected 64GB. Did I make a mistake? Should I update anything or change settings so the computer recognizes it correctly? The packaging seemed correct—DDR4 2x32GB at 3200MHz. Appreciate your help!

Shut down the device. Disconnect it from the electrical outlet. Press the power switch several times to remove any remaining energy. Remove the new RAM module. Reinsert it making sure it is securely placed. Take out the old battery and keep it away for about five minutes. Reinsert the battery and turn on the machine.

remove the tool, reinsert it carefully and verify both ends engage properly. If issues persist, use a screwdriver to access the latch housing containing the small battery on your motherboard. People often suggest waiting about 1 second or a few minutes, but around 15 seconds is typical. Another option is locating either two or three reset pins and connecting them with a screwdriver; this should take roughly the same time.

Been part of this group for nearly ten years, but just created an account to express my gratitude for the clear guidance you provided. I've been stuck in a loop all day trying to get one of my upgraded RAM sticks recognized by the system, which Windows flags as "system reserved." It hasn't shown up in any totals in UEFI or memtest even though it appears present and seems fine. Thanks again—you're doing great! Now I can finally resume backing up that problematic HDD boot sector.
