I've been using my PC for about three years now. It performed well until it suddenly stopped working. I looked in the task manager and found only 7.9GB of RAM used out of the 16GB installed. Plus, school is open now, so I don’t have much time to play except on weekends. That’s why I’m eager to get it fixed as soon as possible so I can enjoy my computer for those short weekend hours. I’ve tried many solutions—adjusting msconfig, changing the XMP profile, setting up a paging file, cleaning the registry, running sfc/scannow and other commands—but nothing seems to help. My PC specs are: Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 8x2 (16GB), 3200MHz RAM, Master 850W power supply.

Open the BIOS settings and verify if the second stick is detected, which should be your initial action

Consider some potential issues here. Refer to your motherboards manual and follow these instructions. 1) Examine the attached picture of your mobo manual. Verify that RAM is placed in slots a2 and b2 (second and fourth from the left). A common error is installing them with the pins facing each other. 2) Once correctly installed, remove them and re-seat them, pushing down gently at the center of the stick. 3) If everything is set right but it still doesn’t work, take RAM out of slot 4 and use only RAM 2. If that resolves the problem, swap the RAM sticks but keep using the same slot to confirm both are operational. 4) Should these steps not fix it, a BIOS configuration might be the cause. More details can be found online, but search for "Enabling XMP MSI BIOS". Also, double-check your RAM timings to ensure they’re configured properly.

This value indicates 8GB of storage. (Apologies for the German interface)

It seems the display indicates 8.1gb reserved, making it appear you have only 8gb of RAM. There should be some available space elsewhere on the screen. You might want to try using a tool like Cpuz for more details.
