So in early 2016 I purchased a new RAM for my laptop, specifically the Kingston HyperX 1600mhz 4GB×2 for the machine. However, after several weeks of use, the RAM began getting hot quickly during gameplay that I usually run at 2GB. It also became very warm during idle periods, and I could only sense the heat by touching the case near the RAM area.

Hello... could you share a picture of the area around your RAM?... It seems the RAM requires airflow. Is there anything obstructing it or preventing the fan from working properly?

I checked, there’s nothing blocking the airflow. The fan on my laptop is functioning normally. There’s a vent hole right in front of the RAM area. I tried spreading water on the case to cool it down, but I wasn’t able to post a picture.
