I'm setting up a Ryzen 5 1600 build before Christmas using either the 1650 Super or the new 5500. I heard there were some problems with RAM speeds on older Ryzen models, so I want to clarify what’s going on with Samsung B Die and recommend a suitable 2x4 RAM kit right now.

When the 5500 isn't in stock, opt for the RX 570 instead—it's more affordable and performs better than the 1650. Major frequency problems are resolved, and you can safely use a Corsair Vengeance LPX kit since they're all compatible with Samsung B-drams.

5500 will launch after the 12th decimal point, which is why I'm holding off. Since I plan to use Premier Pro and have watched some benchmark videos, I'm a bit puzzled. Do you think the Ryzen 5 1600 is worth it in 2019? It's priced similarly to a 3200G model I used before, and it fits my budget here. Will it suit your needs for gaming, capturing gameplay, and video editing in Premier Pro at 1080p with 60 fps?

The 1600 remains a solid CPU choice. Using it is always a smart move.
