You can clean the contacts using 99% isopropyl alcohol just before connecting (use a lint-free cloth dampened with it and wipe the contacts). After that, place the board in. The IPA adds a little lubrication but will quickly disappear. My board was extremely snug too.

Use compressed air to clean the slots—it should work. Unless it was exposed to intense heat and warped, it should fit. These units don’t come with offset DDR4 slots.
