I have a 2x8 GB kit installed on my PC. Both RAM sticks are detected in BIOS and Windows, but the BIOS lists memory size as 8192 MB while the system shows only 8 GB available. Task Manager indicates hardware is reserving 8 GB for some reason. I’ve reinserted both modules multiple times, testing each in different slots without success. I’m unsure if adjusting BIOS settings, updating firmware, or changing Windows settings would help. I’m considering reseating the CPU as a final step since I’m not sure about the issue. It seems my RAM should work with up to 3200MHz, but only half of it appears functional. The BIOS and MSI documentation suggest this might be related to the CPU cooler being too tight.

According to the motherboard details, the label next to 3200mhz indicates you need to boost the RAM speed to that frequency within the BIOS settings.

Standard processors fitting this motherboard feature a memory controller limited to a specific rate. Exceeding this limit involves overclocking the memory.
