Hey there, I moved into a new place yesterday. For the commute, it usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. I thought about swapping out the GPU since it’s been acting up. After setting up my PC at the apartment, he wouldn’t even start again—even though he worked late yesterday. I tried reseating the GPU and RAM, but nothing worked. I changed several things multiple times, and sometimes he would boot up again. Eventually, I used just one RAM stick, which worked. The other one didn’t boot at all. I noticed tiny scratches on the contacts on both ends of the faulty stick, and there’s a small brown smudge on one contact. I gently cleaned it with a microfiber cloth, but it didn’t help. Any ideas? Could something like heating it up fix the issue? If you have any tips, I’d really appreciate them. Thanks for your understanding—I gave it my best effort.

It's conceivable that static discharge during re-seating could harm one stick. For repairs, avoid using an oven. Corsair Vengeance RAM typically comes with a lifetime warranty. Given today's prices, you might want to request an exchange under warranty. It's also wise to test the sticks on another machine to confirm if the issue is genuine. Moving them may disturb cables and connectors, but modern computers are usually resilient to such shaking. Good luck!
