Currently I use two 8GB RAM sticks in MU PC, but I wish I had the 32GB I used to have. If I buy two new 8GB sticks at the same speed (like 3200MHz) and keep DDR4, would my computer start properly? Thank you for your help!
the system specs include an amd 7 7500g with 2x8gb ram, 2300mh ram, a 3060 processor, and 12gb storage. the remaining components are generic parts from a lenovo prebuilt setup; the ram and board are not branded, only assembled by lenovo. if you consider adding a 4x8gb stick, it would likely be from another manufacturer.
You can combine RAM, but it isn't always reliable. The motherboard typically has four RAM slots.
Lenovo only works with JEDEC standards. Your 3200C16 XMP kit won't function if you purchased a different RAM brand or model. Could you specify the exact brand and model you have?

It could be possible, though uncertain. Your odds improve if you're using the same kit currently, but it might still fail. The best option is to sell your existing kit and purchase a new 32GB (16x2) DDR4 module—prices are at their lowest right now, making it an ideal time to buy.
Typically Lenovo desktops include JEDEC 3200C22 RAM since it doesn't support XMP. You need to verify the brand and model specifications of your current RAM. Once you confirm the details, purchase RAM that matches those specs. Speed matters, but so does CAS latency and adherence to JEDEC profiles.
