3600MHz won’t damage your system, but XMP isn’t available on the B150 board. The maximum supported frequency is 2133MHz. Use a Z-motherboard from before the 500 series if you want XMP functionality.

Is this really the case? Are you certain? My CPU failed about a month after installing two 3600 sticks and setting XMPP to run at 3600 instead of the automatic BIOS choice of 2400. It stopped when I let the PC run all night. I don’t know what caused it, but since I realized I was using unsupported RAM speeds, I thought I damaged the CPU memory controller—the part that manages communication between the processor and RAM.

Generally, handling components responsibly is key—simply applying XMP profiles won't harm your CPU unless something goes wrong. In the worst case, it might fail to boot entirely.
