My MSI B365M supports up to 2666MHz RAM, so your Corsair 3000MHz RAM should work fine. It won’t force the RAM to run at 2666MHz—it will operate at its rated speed unless you enable XMP profiles. Using XMP can boost it to 3000MHz if supported by your motherboard. As for damage, as long as you use compatible RAM and follow proper installation, there’s no risk.

It should function properly, though it will operate only at 2666mhz. Running it at this frequency won’t harm either part, but it won’t deliver maximum speed.
