Hey everyone. I'm thinking about getting a 1080p monitor at 244Hz and upgrading my GPU to something in the 30 series or a 2080. My current RAM might not support that resolution, so I need to upgrade if I want smooth performance. I heard it could really impact my frame rate, but how much does RAM speed matter in the end? Thanks for your help! CPU: i7 8700k @4.3GHz, GPU: 1050Ti, RAM: 2x16 Trident Z DDR4 2400, Board: Strix Z390E, Storage: Samsung 750EVO 500GB.

RAM speed plays a key role for Intel. Even if the RAM is slow, it usually doesn’t significantly impact performance.

Are you referring to 240Hz? I think the RAM speed isn't as critical for me compared to Ryzen. Also, I'd suggest opting for a 3060 Ti or 3070 instead of a 2080, as they're newer, more affordable (except on eBay), and perform better than the 2080.

Quantifiable, true. Noticeable, improbable.
