RAM Behaving weird
RAM Behaving weird
Hello, I've been having issues with my RAM behaving weirdly - games that should use 6-12 GBs of RAM end up using only 2-3,5 after 20 minutes of playing.
Here's a pic of how ram usage looks like 2 minutes after booting up a game

And here's how it is after 20 minutes - sorry this pic doesn't attach

It's like this in every single game i've played ever since building this PC, so it's not a memory leak that's present only in this one; Im having a lot of frame drops and stuttering in some games and i don't know if they're just unoptimized or it's related to this. Furthermore my pc tries it's hardest to keep ram usage around 50% when im not running RAM heavy programs, so using a browser while playing a not so demanding game will limit both browser and game RAM usage to around 50-52% and make the whole system stutter when alt tabbing. I've ran memtest on both RAM sticks separately and made sure they're in dual channel slots; this also happens both when xmp is enabled and disabled. I've also tried reinstalling windows; updating to the newest video driver after ddu of old one, and updating bios. Here's the components:
AMD R5 5600
AMD RX 6700XT
Motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS
RAM Corsair CMK16GX4M2D3600C18
PSU Corsair CX650 Bronze
I would appreciate any thoughts on whether this is normal since i've never had it happen to me on previous PCs. Thanks
Hello there! I'm here to help you with your motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS. Could you let me know which BIOS version you're currently using? I've also checked if reinstalling Windows worked, and I'd appreciate knowing where you obtained your installation files.
I changed the BIOS to the newest version 3607.
My Windows installer came from the Microsoft website. I installed it using a flash drive.
