Hi, you're considering cooling your i7-13700KF with an NH-D15. Would Corsair Vengeance or Kingston Fury fit with a Noctua NH-D15 cooler that’s 165mm tall? The case only supports a max 170mm air cooler. You also have an MSI Gungnir 110R. Can you rotate the cooler 180 degrees so the fan faces another side, allowing room for taller RAM? Would that affect the rear case fan? Could you adjust the fan a bit higher? Also, can the CPU fan reach the RAM without issues? Links provided for reference.

First of all that case is a garbage hotbox, expect constant throttling even when gaming cause no airflow. Just get a better case and may aswell get something that can fit a taller cooler so theres 2 birds with 1 stone, case swap for more clearence and actual airflow so your components dont suffocate and burn

I'm concerned about the thermals in that situation. To use this case, you'll need a powerful AIO to manage the 13700KF effectively.

Avoid letting the fan come into contact with the ram, preferably just a little above it. As someone who owns a few NH-D15s now, the fan above the ram will rise noticeably compared to the one inside. You don’t have to spin the cooler to shift the fan back; simply attach it to the rear. With many motherboards, you might need to lift it higher too, since VRMs require heatsinks underneath. Running a single fan might be enough if space is tight. You can also consider using 120mm fans. Pay attention to the clips included with the NH-D15—they’re designed for 120mm fans, which will sit level with the top of the cooler. This configuration is what I’m using for my son’s PC.

No, you wouldn't achieve the same results. A D15S with dual fans of 140mm and 120mm wouldn't provide the same airflow benefits as a single 140mm fan, and you'd still need to ensure proper RAM clearance.

It's also a challenging scenario since I'm dealing with this issue, I just need to achieve the highest performance from it.

It's similar to reducing airflow in half not improving the heatsink performance. Still, it remains better than a basic single tower such as AK400 and NH-U12S.

Same results as 2 - 140mm fans? Not quite. The 140mm units handle more airflow, but that doesn’t mean a big boost. My son’s system is already running at 9900k, matching this configuration. It won’t be a game-changer. His case also benefits from strong airflow.

I'm curious about your thoughts on AIO cooling. It's a popular method for maintaining optimal temperatures in systems. What aspects interest you the most?

This model features an NH-D15 chassis with 120mm fans installed. It offers significantly more space compared to the standard NH-15 design.
