It’s possible to install 4x4GB RAM with the i5-2400. You have four slots on your motherboard, and you already have two 4GB modules and two more 4GB modules. This setup should accommodate the additional RAM without issues. The post you read likely confirmed compatibility, so you can proceed confidently.

The memory controller in the i5 2400 can handle up to 32GB of RAM, which should align with the CPU’s capabilities. The main concern is whether the RAM modules will communicate properly. I haven’t faced any compatibility issues before, though I’m aware it can happen occasionally. A good approach would be to install them and test functionality. Note: After installing, the system may need extra time to boot because it’s initializing the memory. This is typical behavior during setup.

Thank you, it's good to know. I've purchased the same model, 1333MHz, DDR3, etc.

It functioned because I still have the same inquiry, even though the official page says only 2 memory channels are allowed for an i5 2400.

Four dimmers remain as two channels. Each channel has two dimmers. It should function. You don’t like it when updates aren’t shared?

I use the Z77 board with all four dimmers active. It functions properly.
