Your Lenovo Loopt has two 8GB RAM slots. You can either swap one for a 16GB stick, giving you 24GB total, or remove both 8GB units and install a 16GB module. Both options are possible depending on your needs.

You can combine different RAM modules as long as they're all the same type (avoid mixing DDR4 and DDR5). If your DIMMs aren't compatible, dual-channel operation won't work, and performance will be limited to the slowest module. (For instance, pairing a 3600mhz stick with a 3200mhz stick results in both running at 3200.)
