Single channel nukes affect CPU speed noticeably, boosting FPS by at least 0.1 or more. Linus recently posted a video showing how single channel is a poor RAM setup.

I noticed that, but those upgrades were mainly for high-end CPUs and GPUs. I was just checking if they’d work in my laptop with average specifications.

I recall using a single 2GB stick on my e8400, but the speed difference with a dual channel setup is noticeable—about half to two-thirds slower.

Check out Dawid's Tech Stuff videos. He performs tests comparing single vs dual channel setups on older machines. The results vary—some games show a big impact while others don't. Still, having dual channel RAM in 2022 is a solid investment.
