I just bought a new computer to replace my old one and I’m thinking about whether it’s possible to transfer the RAM from my old PC to my new one for more memory.
Check the RAM specifications for both systems; they must match the same DDR version. Running more than one memory module at once can affect stability, especially if the current RAM speed is high.
Depends. If the old motherboard uses e.g. DDR3 and the new one uses DDR4, then you can't. If both use DDR4, you could. Depending on the speed difference (if there is one), you may get more RAM, but could end up with slower RAM in return. To give you better info, we'd need to know the technical specs of the RAM sticks in both systems (e.g. type, frequency, latency).
