Hey everyone, I just got a new PC and came with a 16GB RAM stick. I checked the specs in CMD and saw it supports up to 64GB, which is great. I’m wondering what RAM I should get now—should I upgrade to more sticks or just stick with one? If I replace the current setup, what’s the maximum speed my system can reach? From CPU-Z it shows 1333MHz, but Task Manager says 2667MHz. That difference is interesting!

My motherboard details: CPU-Z shows memory tab. Processor model is 10400F, GPU is GTX1660 Super with 6GB GDDR6.

I’d just purchase another 16GB card of the same speed and feel fine. It’s a ready-made unit, so there’s no need to overcomplicate things.

I revisited the details and forgot that line at the end twice. Basically, you should purchase another 32GB model to ensure dual-channel performance.

Task manager indicates slot 1 of 2, meaning adding more than two RAM modules isn't feasible. I’d definitely opt for a second stick to enable dual-channel support, which boosts performance. CPU-Z displays the physical clock speed at 1333 MHz. Because it’s DDR, it handles two operations per cycle, resulting in an effective speed around 2666 MHz (1333 x 2). The accurate figure is 2666 MT/s (million transfers per second).
