You can keep both configurations if they’re compatible. Just ensure the new RAM supports the higher frequency (3200MHz) and that your system can handle the upgrade without conflicts.

They can't combine different RAM speeds such as DDR3 and DDR4 unless it's specifically 2400 MHz. Edited July 27, 2020 by TofuHaroto

It's fine, DDR4 and 1200MHz are compatible. They can run together even if their speeds differ.

So it's 2400, but practically you can do it since everything runs at the pace of the slowest part. Mixing RAM types isn't always reliable, though it does function—just limited to that speed.

It's fine. You can rely on the 3200 kit alone if you don't require 32 gigs.
