I've been exploring Rainbow Six Siege lately, and it seems like a great game for competitive play. I'm confident I'll enjoy it and hope to build a following in the eSports scene. Most people in eSports are fans of games like Call of Duty, CS:GO, LoL, and DOTA. I appreciate how diverse Siege offers, with its fully destructible environment and the need for quick defensive strategies. It definitely requires strong teamwork. I know most titles have lone wolves, but in Siege you really need to work together. I'll go through all these thoughts tomorrow morning since it's 2 a.m., lol.
I really question this. Someone is likely going to try to go alone, another will be offline or not responding, a few are trying to unite the team but they’re not listening, and another is just causing trouble. Oops, it looks like it’s pretty late here. It seems intriguing, but I don’t watch eSports much.
Arma offers competitions, though they don't match the intensity of other esports scenes.
Just had an idea—something about eSports in Minecraft... wow, so many reactions! I’d love to see bigger tournaments from different games instead of just the old favorites.
The majority of eSports enthusiasts are CoD supporters? Are you really watching eSports? The peak audience is in Dota 2, followed by CS:GO. CoD isn't even part of the current scene anymore. Since Siege is designed as a competitive game that demands teamwork, I don’t see a reason it can’t become a solid contender in eSports. But while CS:GO is already a dominant FPS title among gamers, I doubt Siege will expand rapidly unless Ubisoft takes meaningful steps to engage the PC community and enter the eSports arena.
I've mentioned it before and I'll repeat it: the main shooters likely to make it in eSports and get real recognition are UT4 and possibly Toxxik, or Toxikk, or whatever it's called. Maybe Doom 4 could be a contender if the multiplayer matches what id Software is promoting.
That would be great. It performs better than many games in the competitive arena.
The main issue I notice with Siege turning into an esports is its cost. Most esports games are either free or very affordable, making them accessible to everyone. Starcraft 2 stands out because it gained popularity simply due to the game's existing fanbase. It’s much simpler to join an esport if you’ve played the game yourself. A triple-A price tag can deter many people, and I question whether a natural competitive scene will develop like it has for Dota 2 and CS:GO.
