I found the starter edition to be perfectly fine for me. It quickly gets the core operators ready. If you absolutely need the base features right away, go for it—I think the starter offers a smoother start with fewer character choices. This helps you master things faster instead of trying everything at once. Plus, it pushes you to use recruit early, so you concentrate on the main goal first. I enjoyed the starter and agree with the price of $7—it’s entirely up to you.

YES !!! You gain access to all essential functions, just purchase the season pass operators. With the Starter Edition you must unlock each operator individually, which will take a while—prices are per group (e.g., "sas", "gag") and start at 500, then 1000, 1500, finally 2000.

It's available for free right now; I'll check it out to see if I like it. How's the overall hacking landscape looking?

It's not too bad at all. People often talk a lot about hackers, but maybe it's just about the rankings. R6 is a solid game, you really shouldn't miss it.

definietly get the standard version, upon not having all y1 operators you also have to pay more to unlock new ones as with the standard edition. Hackers are definietly a thing, but is is not bad. I would advice to go and grab some friends to paly with, the community can be quite toxic
